Back Home Again

Sunrise on our last day. Sun is coming up over the Okaloosa fishing pier. Best time of year, we can see sunrise and sunset from the decks, which doesn't happen in the summer.

The condo's are set up for their Thanksgiving visitors. We even bought a platter, gravy boats and a roasting pan for each condo. Not standard condo fare and who knows if they will care anything about cooking but it is there if they need it.

Beach looks inviting even though it is a bit brisk. Did our traditional brunch at Another Broken Egg before heading out of town. Found a new route, down to five and a half hours, without Atlanta traffic.

Looking forward to our next visit.

We love the beach; rain or shine, warm or cold. It is a six hour drive from home, but we always think it is worth the trip.
It seems we are not alone. This area draws people from all over the south and has a big draw from everyone off the I-65 and I-10 corridors.

What to Do?

Too many to name, and I bet you can think of more:
The Gulfarium
Shop
Swimming
Kayaking
Kite Flying
Kite Boarding
Fishing
Boating
Dolphin Sightings
Miniature Golf
Go Karts
Golf
Ice Skate - that's right, between Thanksgiving and New Year's in downtown Fort Walton

Where to Eat Breakfast

Hands down, you have to have breakfast at Another Broken Egg in destin, just over the bridge, at least once.

Also good, the Donut Hole and The Pancake House.

How About Dinner?

Harbor Docks in Destin - good fresh fish and sushi.
McGuire's Irish Pub in Destin
AJ's at the boardwalk on Okaloosa - fish, crab and brunch

We own two water-front condos on Okaloosa Island in Fort Walton Beach, FL. It is a relatively quiet little island with beautiful white sandy beaches on the Gulf of Mexico. It has easy access to Fort Walton Beach and Destin. It is a location that can be as relaxing or adventurous as you want.
