We love the beach; rain or shine, warm or cold. It is a six hour drive from home, but we always think it is worth the trip.
It seems we are not alone. This area draws people from all over the south and has a big draw from everyone off the I-65 and I-10 corridors.

We came down last night, got in at midnight, and because we are creatures of habit, woke at 6. Enjoyed watching the sun rise, drinking coffee on the deck, wrapped in fleece blankets. If you rise early you can watch the dolphins go by on the early morning trek. Pelicans and sea gulls grace the sky and an occasional early morning beach walker will stroll the empty sand.

The beach is made of pretty white sand but is practically shelless on our section due to a reef off shore.

There is great shelling down the beach but you need to know the secret.
